The Tokina 11-16 Canon Provides Ultra Wide Zoom at a Great Price

December 27th, 2011

canon-lensThe Tokina 11-16 Canon lens is definitely going to appeal to people who value aperture more than focal range. It has a very fast f2.8 aperture, which means that even in low light or indoor situations this lens is going to get the job done. Canon has its own 10-22mm entry in the ultra wide zoom category but you can expect to pay a premium price for it. Tokina has definitely not skimped on the build quality of this lens and it ranks as one of the sturdiest lenses I have ever held. The feel of a lens is often overlooked but quite important and I had no issues with the Tokina whatsoever in this regard. This is a very fast lens, which produces sharp images with superlative quality. Both indoors and outdoors, you get great performance from this impressive piece of equipment. The only fly in the ointment is a tendency for flaring when bright lights are in the shot but apart from that, it is a marvelous lens.

The Tamron 18-270 Canon is Definitely an Upgrade

December 15th, 2011

I passed on the 18-250mm offering from Tamron because it lacked image stabilization, but with the Tamron 18-270 Canon they have won me over completely. Not only have they thrown in a little extra range, but the lens also features image stabilization, or as they call it “vibration compensation.” If you have ever tried to take photos in low light conditions without the use of a tripod, you will know how difficult it is to get images that are not blurred. I tried out this new feature and found it to be comparable to all the rivaling products on the market. This lens also comes at a very competitive price, so if you are on a tight budget, you will get a lot of bang for your buck. Rather than focusing on specialization, Tamron has opted for a more generalized approach, which is perfectly suited for anyone who wants a lot of features all packed into one lens.

... Heinrichs - Exposure: 20 sec - Stunning Slow Shutter Speed PhotographyWith the holidays throughout the year people rather read reviews, like the Nikon D7000 review and purchase online. Many consumers will post their experiences with certain specifications that they liked or didn’t like. With the Nikon D7000 people are raving about the shutter speed and availability of the buttons located all around the camera, back and front. The speed is a rapid ever three seconds which is compared to other three second camera shutters. Other features tend to place the D7000 model at the top of the Great Cameras list for the professionals just beginning their careers to those that have had several years in photography. When you are pressing the button halfway it grips the picture so that you can decide to keep the picture or press the button all the way down and snap the picture. Graffiti As a Manifestation of the Artistic Urge

July 5th, 2011

Graffiti is one of the world’s oldest arts. Human beings have often succumbed to the urge to decorate their environment with their opinions and meaningful decorations. From cave drawings to Banksy canvas prints, graffiti has been around as long we have. Some of the world’s oldest graffiti is the imprint of human hands on Ayers Rock in Australia, made by carefully blowing charcoal across the back of a palm splayed across the rock. Even at its most primitive, graffiti proclaims “I am!” Thanks to the unfortunate eruption at Pompeii, Italy, we are still able to see some of the oldest graffiti preserved from our past. Not surprisingly, like much graffiti from our era, its main preoccupation is with pornographic themes, as well as personal boasting. This points to a culture of lively individuality. Some of the sketches, however, have a certain beauty to them, and point to a fair investment of time. This points to an essential division in intent: while, to some, graffiti is only crudely scrawled and easily dismissed, to others it is more than the sum of its lines. When most people think of graffiti, however, their thoughts turn to what the modern media has bought us: street cars and subway trains spattered in colorful “tags”: elaborate swirling signatures meticulously applied to a vehicle or wall. Although, due to laws against graffiti (under the rubric of public order) most graffiti artists must remain anonymous, there are several artists whose careers began “on the street”. The famous artist Jean-Michel Basquiat began as the artist “Samo” in New York City in the Seventies, and his inventive sketchings caught the eye of Andy Warhol. Keith Haring’s little dancing men – still instantly recognizable – were his entrée into the art world. And reclusive graffiti artist Banksy recently attracted international attention with his poignant and politically oriented sketched comments on the wall that Israel is building along its border. Although the act of creating graffiti has been regarded with suspicion by the arbitrary of order in every society where it has appeared over the centuries, each human intuitively understands the spontaneous artistic freedom which graffiti represents.

I Like the Portrait Painting by James Waterhouse

June 3rd, 2011

I like the portrait painting by James Waterhouse. His portrait painting is so famous because of the way he painted women. My favorite painting by this portrait painter is: “After the Dance”. The women on the painting are so beautiful. Their clothes are painted with an outstanding precision. The painting suggests that the dance can create meaning in our lives. The women on the painting looks so happy. The painting infers that the dance brings sunshine in their lives. I also like the painting: “Ariadne” by James Waterhouse. The woman on the painting is so beautiful. She has wonderful brown hair and bug brown eyes. James Waterhouse recreated the brilliance of this woman in an exceptional way. Everybody is fascinated by this painting. I also like his painting: “Juliet”. The young girl on the painting has long red hair and green eyes. Her features are regular. The painting infers love and romance.
